Frostberry Cardigan is an oversized cable cardigan with up to 20 cm / 8 inches of positive ease in the smaller sizes, gradually decreasing in the larger sizes. The cardigan features a textured pattern of elegant cables and playful bobbles, creating a beautifully detailed look. It is worked from the top down, holding one strand of alpaca wool together with one strand of silk mohair. This creates a light and airy fabric with beautiful stitch definition. With a gauge of 17 stitches / 24 rows on 5 mm / US 8 needles, the design works well with a wide variety of yarn combinations.

Frostberry is a fun and engaging project with plenty of variety in the techniques used – interesting to knit without being overly challenging. The back is worked first to the underarms. Stitches are cast on for the neckline, with increases worked gradually on either side to shape the shoulders. Stitches for the front pieces are then picked up along the shoulders and worked separately. Once the fronts and back have reached the same length, all three sections are joined and the body is worked back and forth in one piece. Sleeve stitches are picked up around the armholes and worked from the top down. Finally, the V-neck and front edges are finished with ribbing.

The pattern includes charts as well as clear instructions for working the textured stitch pattern.

Frostberry Cardigan is part of the Frostberry collection, which includes a cardigan, sweater, scarf and hat featuring the same stitch pattern.

When you purchase the pattern, you will receive a folder containing both the English and Norwegian versions.
